LG announced on Thursday that the Optimus Pad will be available for pre-order in Japan starting March 15th. The Korean manufacturer is teaming up with Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo to offer the 8.9-inch tablet. The Optimus Pad model L-06C will be tailor-made for its Japanese audience with BeeTv, a wireless entertainment service, and 2Dfacto, a reading application for eBooks and comics.
Other than these extra applications, the Japanese Optimus Pad is the same model that will land in Europe and Asia and the same as the G-Slate which will debut on T-Mobile in the U.S. The 8.9-inch tablet features a 1 GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a display with a 15:9 aspect ratio and 1280×768 resolution, dual five-megapixel

LG Electronics will begin taking advanced orders for the Japanese-market version of LG Optimus Pad starting March 15. The Japanese version Optimus Pad (model L-06C) will be offered through a partnership with NTT DOCOMO, the country’s leading mobile operator.

Customized for the Japanese Market
The Japanese version of the LG Optimus Pad is pre-loaded with applications custom-made for local tastes, including BeeTV which offers a wide selection of entertainment contents tailored for DOCOMO customers. It also includes the 2Dfacto application allowing users to access a wide selection of e-books and comics for reading on the generous 8.9-inch Optimus Pad screen.
