The brand Nokia provides updating software for all the series of its mobile periodically and their engineering teams are always seeking for better firmware software for Nokia mobile.
So what you have to do to flash your Nokia Mobile?
Swith Off your Nokia Mobile and remove the battery, beneath the battery, there is a product code e.g.
CODE: 0520001
and write this code on the paper. and then go to Nokia.com Software update page and find whether your mobile has a new update available or not. Again put down the version available for your mobile.
Now to see the version of your mobile, switch on your mobile, and press *#0000# and see the version number of your mobile. If your version's date is older than the available version then you have a new update available for your mobile. Now you can flash your mobile with new firmware.
What are requirements for flashing Nokia Mobile :
Computer : Pentium 4 or higher than Pentium 4
High Speed Internet Connection, Broadband is preferred.
Seamless electricity supply, inverter is preferred.
Data cable in good condition, check all the pins.
Fully charged battery of your mobile.
Now download the latest available PC suite of your mobile device from Nokia.com
Also download Nokia Software Updater. (This should be latest, if not update your Nokia Software Updater)
After downloading and installing Nokia Software Updater, please connect your Nokia Mobile with data cable to your computer, start the Nokia Software Updater. (Remember Internet connection must be on). Now Nokia Software Updater will find the latest firmware available for your Nokia Mobile. (Caution : After finding the latest version of your mobile, and pressing the next button, will start downloading the updating file from Nokia.com, remember here do not disconnect your handset from cable or cable from computer.) The downloading of firmware will approximately take 5 to 7 minutes (depends upon how fast your internet connection is) and then the firmware update process will start. This is the most crucial time for your Nokia Mobile. During this process, if the electricity goes off or your data cable is disconnected, your mobile may be completely damaged. Outgoing and Incoming calls will be cut off for some time. After the flashing process, your handset will restart. Check the new version by *#0000#.
If your Mobile phone is disconnected during the crucial time of flashing, please take your Nokia Mobile to nearest service centre to repair.
